LET IT BEGIN HERE!
Journey Women was founded by Jenny Orona, RYT. Jenny brings together groups of talented and passionate women who combine their unique skills to offer students empowering transformational workshops, retreats & trainings like no other.
All Journey Women teachers carry 200hr and/or 500hr certifications in the yoga styles they teach, in addition to many years of combined experience as facilitators, community leaders, and practicing artists and healers.
Jenny Orona is a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance, as well as a 500-hour Kundalini Teacher and iRest Certified Teacher. She has also taken Anusara Therapy classes with Martin Kirk and Anusara Immersion Training with Christina Sell and Elizabeth Cafferky.
Jenny O. has participated in various workshops and trainings with nationally known teachers including Donna Farhi, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Mehtab Benton, Chase Bossart, Sarah Powers, Sadie Nardini, and Judith Hanson Lasater.
After suffering many years in significant pain from a damaging accident, Jenny followed the advice of a friend and tried yoga. Inspired by the pain reducing benefits and subtle shifts in her body, she became a yoga teacher and dedicated student of all the limbs of yoga: meditation, breathing techniques (pranayama), visualization (iRest), sound (mantra), and energy locks (mudra).
Yoga continues to help Jenny find balance within and without — as a whole and complete person, living a vibrant life without pain, and with clear awareness. Confident that even a little bit of yoga can go a long way, Jenny uses her bilingual skills to teach yoga classes in Spanish and to low-income communities.
She is the founder of Corazon Yoga where she offers public and private yoga classes. She is also a founding member of CarryOM.org, an Austin-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing the practice and teachings of yoga to those who care for others — providing practical tools for stress-reduction, coping and self-healing so they can better care for themselves and those they serve.
