Sound Therapy of Austin’s founder, Everitt Allen, is an experienced yoga teacher and sound therapist. He is a 500 ERYT in Hatha and has a Level 2 Kundalini certification. He has extensive advanced Hatha training and studied with the likes of Donna Farhi and Srivatsa Ramaswami.
He has completed, Restorative Relax and Renew training, Advanced Relax and Renew training, and The Spine: Anatomy, Asana and Therapeutics training with Judith Lasater. Everitt has also assisted Judith Lasater during her workshops on several occasions. He has Chair Yoga certification (Yoga in Chairs) through Liz Franklin and Silver Age Yoga certification through Frank Iszak.
He has iRest Level 1 certification through Richard Miller and has just completed Atma Buti (Soul Medicine) Sound Healing with Himalayan Chakra Singing Bowls through Suren Shrestha, Master Teacher, Atma Buti, in Boulder, Colorado. Everitt is a retired nurse of 30 years & is CPR certified. As Everitt says, he is “always a student.”

Everitt provides sound therapy sessions with healing Tibetan bowls and gongs. The sound therapy that Everitt provides is an integrated practice that combines a Shamanic ceremonial setting with an Eastern emphasis on breathing exercises and visualization.
Specific musical instruments played (such as, Himalayan singing bowls and gongs) during the meditation allow participants to use sound as a therapeutic tool to disconnect from discursive thinking and delve into a transcendental state.
