LIVE LIFE AWAKE!
Kamryn Schneider is a 200hr certified yoga teacher, who primarily teaches Vinyasa flow. She is very passionate about living life “awake” and living mindfully and shares this with her students. She encourages her students to feel into their own bodies. Her teaching focuses A LOT on breath, because to her, “yoga is a rhythmic dance with the breath.” She loves sharing her practice with others and seeing her students LET GO and allow their bodies to give in to the space that the breath creates for them.

When I first began yoga, I was in a really ill place, mentally and physically. I was struggling with a life-threatening eating disorder and ironically yoga only served as a source of compulsive exercise. I had no connection with my body, or my mind. I spend two years in a very damaging state to my physical body and my spiritual body. I was manipulating my body and food in attempt to avoid the emotional trauma I was experiencing.
My addictive behavior had lead me to believe that my body and it’s capabilities determined my worth. The more I tried to control my body, the more out of control I felt. I eventually was faced with the choice of death, or inpatient hospitalization. I spend four and a half months at Denver’s Eating Recovery Center restoring not only my body, but my life, my passions, and finally having the space to slow down and deal with what was at the root of the addictive behavior.
It was at ERC that I was first introduced to the ideas of “mindfulness.” It felt good to have the space to slow down and be with myself, so I dove into mediation and breath work as my body began to heal. The past two years I have been able to celebrate my healthy body and mind with the practice of yoga. I found that yoga wasn’t yoga without my breath to guide me. In order to deepen my practice I traveled to Maui and completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Maui Yoga Shala. I was able to open my practice to all aspects of yoga, far beyond the “asana” or physical practice. My yoga practice has given me the strength to work through perfectionism, anorexia, panic attacks, depression, anxiety and given me a space that I can just be.
My life is a journey of ups and downs, but I love to live in the adventure. I hope to share what yoga helps me to do in my life with others. I have a great passion for Forrest yoga as well, and plan to continue my education by taking a teacher training with Ana Forrest in the near future. My heart is in everything I do, and I truly believe that in any given moment you can find contentment, strength, love and passion to work through any circumstance. I love essential oils, hot tea and anything in the wellness world. My passion and my spirit longs to travel and share love to as many on the earth as possible. My story has made me the person I am today and I hope to encourage people to find their strengths in their past struggles.
